Schools Out for Spring!

Welcome to our Schools Out for Spring initiative!

At Spring Gymnastics, we are incredibly keen to support all our gymnasts in whatever way we can through these difficult times and continue to encourage healthy bodies and healthy minds. With this in mind, we are delighted to share with you our very first Schools Out for Spring activity pack which combines physical, educational and recreational tasks. This is in the form of an A4 booklet and includes a number of activities to help keep our gymnasts’ minds and bodies occupied!.

So, what’s Schools Out for Spring all about?

This pack has been devised by a dedicated team of Primary and Secondary education professionals, artists and graphic designers who are all working hard to help keep our gymnasts motivated and entertained during the coronavirus emergency.

How does it work?

Over the next 10 weeks, we will be releasing a Schools Out for Spring pack every Sunday evening, formatted around a weekly theme. You will then have until the following Sunday to complete the 10 tasks. These will vary each week but will cover topics such as Creative Writing, Languages, Geography, Art, Conditioning and Physical Prep tasks. Some tasks will include short end of week tests, so you can keep up with what you’ve learnt. Other tasks will be aimed at keeping fit, and lots will aim to encourage creativity and producing beautiful pieces of work! We have adapted certain tasks to suit a variety of age groups, so that all of our members can get involved with the fun.

How do I make sure I’m in with a chance of winning prizes?

Once this week’s pack is completed, please take pictures or scan in the booklet and send back to us via email to schoolsout@spring-gymnastics.co.uk by 5pm on Sunday 5th April.  We will then choose a weekly winner, based on effort and creativity amongst others things! There will be runners up and special awards for stand out work. There will also be an overall prize which will be awarded at the end of the 10 weeks. We have managed to secure an amazing haul of prizes for our gymnasts, including prizes from Little Mix, Olympian Max Whitlock, Olympian Ellis O’Reilly, GB Senior Annie Young, GB Junior Ruby Stacey as well as England and IOWA State gymnasts Laura Cooke!

How much does the programme cost?

The programme is completely free to everyone for the first week, so download the pack and have a go! Link here:- spring-gymnastics.co.uk/schools-out-for-spring-week-1

After that it will cost £15 per family for April and £15 per family for May as this is also a fundraising initiative to help to support our club during the temporary closure. Of course, this programme will be free to all our members that are continuing to pay their fees during this difficult time.

I don’t have a printer – can I still take part?

Don’t worry if you can’t print out the booklet, you can still view the booklet online and then complete the challenges on plain paper to scan/take a pic and email back to us at schoolsout@spring-gymnastics.co.uk
